Irie Yo-Yo are a Ska/Reggae band from Edinburgh. With inspiration from artists such as Desmond Dekker, Max Romeo, The Specials, Manu Chao and Gentleman, Irie Yo-Yo has developed a very full and soulful ska sound. From the 4 part vocal harmonies, to the succulent sound of the brass section this band is right where it needs to be.
They debuted on the Edinburgh music scene in 2015 at the Edinburgh Food Festival and since then have been gigging non stop at venues such as Mash House, Cabaret Voltaire, residency at Stramash, and many more, supporting artists such as The Big Fat Panda. Irie has also had the opportunity to play various festivals such as the Up Helly AA Festival in the Shetland Islands, Eden Festival, Audio Soup, and The Fringe Festival. Irie Yo-Yo is currently working on releasing a 3 song E.P. set to be released in the coming months. Keep an eye out for Irie Yo-Yo in the future and get yourself along for a night you’re not going to forget in a hurry! Shabba.
