Katharine Macfarlane’s lyrical poetry is rooted in the history and landscape of the west of Scotland. She was awarded the title of Harpies, Fechters and Quines 2016 Slam Champion and was runner up at the Paisley Sma’ Shot Slam. She has recently performed with the Loud Poets in Glasgow, at the Belladrum Festival in Inverness and hosted her first solo show, Home Words, at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe at the end of August. An exhibition of work from her collaborative reimagining project with fine artist Karen Strang entitled Voices from Ashes, runs in Culross until the end of September and her work has appeared in Untitled, The Grind and The Write Angle Magazines.
