Summer is officially in full flow, and our first event is just around the corner. In association with the Greater Grassmarket next weekend, we’re excited to be bringing you a diverse range of local musicians throughout Saturday afternoon on their pop-up stage. Check out the line-up below for a taste of what’s to come, and make sure you follow our social media channels as we’ll be highlighting each artist in the days running up to the gig on the 8th July. Wander down with your shades and dancing shoes, sip a drink in the sun and enjoy some quality music outdoors.
Lyndsey Craig – 12pm – 12:25pm
Lyndsey Craig has been around the Edinburgh music scene for a number of years, in various projects. The frontwoman of country-grunge 3 piece, ‘Betty & The Bass’, she is gigging & recording regularly, with new music set to be coming soon.
Kathy Muir – 12:30pm – 12:55pm
Soulful balladeer Kathy Muir conjures enlightened songs that transform elements of pop, folk, jazz and the blues into brand-new sounds. A prolific and fastidious creator, Muir has released many musical and multi-media projects during her career, many of which were collaborations with other artists.
Sam Morris (The Social Order) – 1:10pm – 1:35pm
Luna Delirious – 1:40pm – 2:05pm
Sam Morris Muzak – 2:10pm – 2:35pm
Hollerin’ Franklin – 2:40pm – 3:20pm
Hollerin’ Franklin is the rapper for Edinburgh-based ska-punk-hip-hop band New Urban Frontier, whose aim is to create a new sound. Inspired by the punk ethos of old and the challenging voices of the few modern bands who seek to motivate, they want to blow apart the idea of being a ‘genre’ and make a sound that will wake you up.
Andrew Nicol – 3:20pm – 3:45pm
A relative latecomer to performing, Andrew Nicol has spent the past 7 years honing his craft and developing his unique take on introspective pop with an Americana twist. Citing Ryan Adams, Neil Finn and Band of Horses as significant influences, Nicol’s songwriting unsurprisingly focuses on melody driven reflection with a healthy dose of angst and occasional humour.
