Festival Volunteers

We are now looking for volunteers to assist in the general running of Oxjam Edinburgh Takeover on 15th October.

If you’re interested in what Edinburgh’s music scene has to offer, want an insight into what it takes to run an event of this type, or just want to help us raise some funds for Oxfam then this is the ideal opportunity for you!

You will complete one of many vital roles to ensuring the day goes off with a bang. Assisting at the box office, checking wristbands, helping the venue management to run each space, completing fundraising activities on-the-day, even providing general hands-on support to our team and performers throughout the day.

Applicants must be available on the 15th October between 11am and 11pm. Exact shift lengths and times will vary but will be on average 5 hours,  giving you plenty of time to enjoy the festival!

Interested? Drop an email to Emra at oxjam.ed.volunteer@gmail.com and we’ll be in touch soon!

Please note that this opportunity is unpaid.

Gig Photographers

Oxjam Edinburgh Takeover is looking for 5 photographers to document their inner-city music festival on the 15th October. This is an ideal opportunity for budding music photographers to build their portfolio and to be part of Oxjam’s nationwide gig fundraiser.

You will be stationed at one of 5 venues across Old Town, where you will be asked to do crowd and band photography. The venues are Stramash, Paradise Palms, Brewdog, Grassmarket Community Project, or a pop-up stage on the Grassmarket. If you have a preferred venue, please state this in your application.

Oxjam is a charitable music festival that takes place in 50 cities across the UK. All money raised goes towards Oxfam’s Emergency Fund, which provides emergency relief, sanitation, and drinking water to communities struck by disaster. We aim to showcase each city’s local artists, and in Edinburgh will be bringing over 30 musicians and spoken word performers to the stage from our dynamic music scene.

Applicants must be available on the 15th October between 11am and 11pm. Exact shift lengths and times will vary depending on the venue that you are assigned.

Photographers with all levels of experience can apply, although we ask that you have a portfolio of good quality pictures ready to send.

For more information and to apply please send samples of your work to Becca at oxjam.ed.marketing@gmail.com. The deadline is Sunday 25 September 2016 at 17:00.

Please note that this opportunity is unpaid.
